76% of charities are trying to raise funds from different generations, but what works?

The Nonprofit Research Collaborative asked hundreds of charities about their fundraising tactics to reach Millennials, Gen X, Boomers, and people age 70 and above. Three-quarters of respondents are doing something -- but what is working?

The new report at npresearch.org shows that it takes all channels (mail, email, social media, etc.) and sometimes special messaging based on generational interests. We cannot assume that someone in a certain age group does or does not respond to Facebook appeals or to a letter received at home. Each individual has preferences, and as effective fundraisers, we need to use all of the tools we can.
